At a time when a growing fascination with ghosts continues to climb and with TV shows like Ghost Hunters and Most Haunted drawing new viewers all the time, more and more people are attempting to venture out on their own with the hope of encountering a spirit.
So, how difficult is it to actually see a spirit? Are they only in graveyards and haunted houses? According to psychic medium James Van Praagh, author of Ghosts Among Us, ghosts are everywhere. Does this mean that the next time you go to a family function, a deceased loved one could show up? It could very well be!
An Experiment in Seeing a Spirit
If you are curious enough to try to encounter a ghost, there's no time like the present. While some people are able to catch a glimpse of a ghost with their eyes, others are able to see them within their mind's eye.
Here is a simple experiment to help try see a ghost. Seat yourself in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to relax yourself. Now, create a warm and inviting room in your mind. Perhaps you're in a villa by the ocean or nestled in a cozy log cabin in the woods.
As you create your room, make it as inviting as possible. If you like, throw in the scent of homemade cookies or the smell of freshly cut flowers. Maybe even a warm, glowing fire in a rustic fireplace. Once you've finished designing your room, pick a corner of the room and place a soft, comfortable chair there. The last step in the creation process is to visualize a door in the ceiling. When you are ready, open the door and invite a spirit to come in.
Results of Trying to Summon an Apparition
This experiment only works on a limited number of people the first time it is tried. However, with practice, it is possible to be able to connect with a spirit from the other side.
Once you're able to connect with a spirit from the other side, you might like to try a second part of this experiment. Ask the spirit to tell you something that is going to happen in the next week and be sure to write down the information so you don't forget. Now, wait and see if the spirit's prediction comes true.
