Let's take a look at some teams that investigate haunted locations for television.

Believing in ghosts gives people hope that somehow they will live on even after they've taken their final breath. Many TV shows currently air that explore the world of ghosts and hauntings.

Whether it be through the use of scientific equipment or psychic investigation, these shows offer evidence that ghosts and hauntings exist. The following television shows provide ghost hunting and haunting enthusiasts with a great outlet to learn more about these paranormal events.

Ghost Hunters

Founded by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, (TAPS,) investigates alleged hauntings all over the United States in Ghost Hunters.

Armed with equipment such as infrared cameras, EMF meters, and audio recorders, (in hopes of catching EVPs,) TAPS actually tries to debunk the so-called hauntings. In some cases logical explanations have been found for the hauntings. However, other times there is no other explanation except that the location is actually haunted. This show airs on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Ghost Hunters International

A spin-off of Ghosts Hunters, Ghost Hunters International travels the world investigating haunted locations. Some of their investigations have included Bran Castle, (otherwise known as Dracula's castle,) in Romania and the Reichenstein Castle in Germany. This show also airs on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Ghost Adventures

Zac Bagans and his crew investigate various haunted sites in Ghost Adventures. After initially touring the property and interviewing eyewitnesses, the crew is locked down for the night with no means of leaving. If unable to find any ghostly happenings, Zac actually tries to provoke any spirits to make themselves known. The Travel Channel airs Ghost Adventures.

Most Haunted

Another travel Channel favorite, Most Haunted, features a team of British paranormal investigators, including a parapsychologist, medium, and psychic artist, who spend 24 hours on a haunted property, combining both paranormal and scientific methods of investigation.

Dead Famous Ghostly Encounters

In Dead Famous Ghostly Encounters, psychic Chris Fleming and skeptic Jane Porter travel the country looking for locations that are allegedly haunted by famous dead people. The spirits of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean are just a couple of the ghosts Fleming and Porter have investigated on this Biography Channel show.

Haunted History

Through storytelling and reenactments, Haunted History visits historical sites where ghosts are said to roam such as the White House where the spirits of Abigail Adams, (wife of John Adams,) and Abraham Lincoln have been seen. Haunted History airs on The History Channel.

Paranormal State

Paranormal State stars Ryan Buell, founder of the Penn. State University's Paranormal Research Society, (otherwise known as PRS,) Buell and his investigative team not only take on ghost and hauntings, but other paranormal phenomena on this A&E show.
